Alexandra Maria Lara is a Romanian-German actress on television and film best known for her performances in films such as Downfall Youth Without Youth Control and Rush. Alexandra was the only child of Romanian actor Valentin Platareu. When she was 16, she had already been offered a variety of television roles which included the leading role in Downfall Youth Without Youth Control. Her critically acclaimed performance in the television film Der Tunnel paved way for more notable roles like the role of Secretary to Adolf Hitler Traudl Junge in the commercially and critically profitable Oscar nominated historical war film Downfall. The Reader and Der Baader Meinhof Komplex are two other Oscar nominated features featuring the divas. Over the years Alexandra has been involved in a variety of notable international and national projects. These projects include the British Biographical Film Control Greek Drama film The Dust of Time French Historical Miniseries Napoleon and many others. Her other roles include being an official jury member for each of and the Transylvania International Film Festival and Cannes Film Festival.
