Henry John Deutschendorf Jr. was born Henry John Germandorf at Roswell near New Mexico, fell in Love with Colorado. The place he settled was Aspen. Denver's anthems for his adopted state have drawn many to Colorado. I don't think there's another performer that embodies Colorado like John Denver said G. Brown director of the Colorado Music Hall of Fame. Denver was the first Hall of Fame ever inductee. He is the face of Colorado for a lot of people across the globe. On my trips I've encountered individuals who are from New Zealand or the other side. When you tell people you're from Colorado The first thing they'll use are"Oh John Denver. Brown said. Take Me Home Country Roads was Denver's top 10 hit following a performance with a small folk music bands. It was co-written and recorded by Bill Danoff. Danoff composed the track in the spirit of Johnny Cash, but Denver was able to hear the song's early versions and was aware that it would become a top 10 hit. The song was first recorded two weeks following it was performed in Washington D.C. performance.
